I’ve tried to create a website that anticipates and satisfies my customers’ needs. With that goal in mind, I’ve compiled a list of frequently asked questions (and answers). If you do not find an answer to your question here, please do not hesitate to contact me

How much do you charge?
My charges are based on several factors.  The date and time, the venue location, the duration, the amount of equipment I need to use, how many guests are coming and transport costs.  See my packages page for a guide to my prices

What kind of music can you play?
Practically anything you wish. The bottom line is, it’s your party, your event, your night. I work with you closely to ensure you get the type of music that you and your guests like and also what is right for your party or event. I have an extensive music collection covering a wide range of genres and across the decades right through to current date. Whether you’re looking for a personality DJ for a family function, corporate function or a professional to mix it up on the decks, look no further!

Will you play song requests?
Yes, I am happy to take requests. I can take specific song requests prior to the event, so I can plan your set-list and in the unlikely event of not having a certain track, source any song request that you have made. Of course, I’ll also take requests on the night from you and your guests

Do you confirm the booking?
Yes, I always send an electronic confirmation, via e-mail, and a formal contract will be drawn up on receipt of booking payment

How long do you need to set up, and how much space do you require?
For most functions I allow an hour for setting up, I would also require approximately 4m x 2m of space. For larger functions additional time and space may be required.

Can you set-up your equipment in the daytime?
Yes, I can set-up at any time you require

Does it make any difference if my party is upstairs?
I would need to know what floor the party is on to ensure I get to the right location, and will also need to allow a longer time to set up if the functions upstairs.

Do you use good light effects?
Yes, I have a selection of lighting effects to create a party ambience at your venue.

Do you use a haze machine?
Yes, a haze machine used sensibly can dramatically enhance the lighting effects, these machines are included in any package, however please check in advance that your venue allows the use of a haze machine.

What will the DJ wear?
My dress code is smart/casual

Do you do Children’s Parties?
Yes, however I do require parental supervision and participation!

Have you got Public Liability Insurance (PLI) ?
Yes, I hold £10m Public Liability Insurance cover.

What about Health & Safety – is your equipment tested?
Yes, my equipment is Portable Appliance tested (PAT) in accordance with the Health & Safety electricity at work act 1989.

The venue requires PAT & PLI certificates. Is this possible?
Yes, I can easily forward them to the venue via e-mail.

Is it possible to have a consultation prior to making a booking?
Yes, face-to-face consultations for individuals, couples, small groups and venue managers can be arranged to take place at your home, at a public house or preferably at the venue of the event. I will arrange a time and place that is both suitable and convenient for you. (Fee’s apply)

The venue has difficult access, will this increase the price?
Yes, this could cause an extra cost dependant on the access issues this is due to extra time required and additional cost of employing someone to help load & un-load the equipment. Generally speaking if a venue has particularly bad access then they usually have someone on hand to help out free of charge, it’s worth looking into.

When do I pay?
When confirming an event, I ask for a 50% booking fee deposit to secure your date. The remaining balance is due to be paid, in full, a minimum of 30 days prior to the event. If you fail to cancel your booking before this date you will be charged the full booking fee. This ruling may be wavered in very extreme circumstances, or should I manage to fulfil the date prior to the booking date.

What are your cancellation fees?
With the exception of an act of good or natural disaster, your deposit is non-refundable.
